This post is an overview of all the planning decisions made in the previous stages. It helps to create a clearer vision of my magazine and ensures consistency in terms of design, layout, and overall identity.

Masthead

The masthead I designed is minimalist, elegant, and strongly inspired by luxury branding. I explored several ideas before deciding on a final version, but I chose to keep the design clean and refined, as this better reflects the identity of the magazine.

The typography is simple yet distinctive, allowing it to stand out without being overly complex. I decided to avoid excessive graphic elements, as I want the masthead to feel timeless and premium, similar to brands such as Ferrari or Porsche.

Fonts & Colours

Regarding fonts, I decided to use clean and highly readable typefaces, combined with a more distinctive font for headings. This creates a contrast between body text and titles, making the layout more visually engaging.

In terms of colour, I will mainly use black, white, and subtle neutral tones, as these reinforce the luxury aesthetic. However, I may introduce accents such as gold or muted colours when necessary, especially to highlight important elements.

Overall, the colour palette will remain controlled and minimal, allowing the images to become the main focus.

Visual Approach

The visual style of the magazine will be minimalist but impactful. I plan to use:

  • large images

  • clean layouts

  • structured compositions

There will be a strong emphasis on white space, which helps create a more sophisticated and high-end feel. The layouts will not be overly experimental, but rather balanced and carefully organised, reflecting the style of premium automotive magazines.

Photo Style

The photography will play a central role in my magazine. The images will be:

  • high quality

  • cinematic

  • visually striking

I plan to include both studio shots and lifestyle images, showing the cars in different environments. This will add variety while maintaining a consistent tone.

Since the magazine focuses more on visuals than text, it is essential that the images are carefully selected and professionally styled, as they will define the overall impact of the pages.

Genre

The genre of my magazine is Luxury Automotive.

It focuses on high-end, rare, and collector cars, presented in a refined and editorial format rather than a technical or commercial one.

This allows the magazine to stand out by combining automotive content with a more artistic and lifestyle-oriented approach.

Target Audience

The target audience consists mainly of:

  • car enthusiasts

  • collectors

  • individuals interested in luxury products

This audience is likely to appreciate design, exclusivity, and visual storytelling, rather than purely technical information.

Because of this, the magazine will not be aimed at a mass audience, but rather at a niche group that values premium content and aesthetics.
